NEXUS Says ‘Fast Tracking’ For African And Chinese Markets Is Among Strategic Priorities

This major initiative is one of a number to emerge from a strategic review, and subsequent structured plan, charting future priorities for the world’s largest aftermarket alliance.

NEXUS Automotive International (N!) has announced plans to step up its activity in Africa and China as it seeks to “fast track” business development in these important emerging markets.

This major initiative is one of a number to emerge from a strategic review, and subsequent structured plan, charting future priorities for the world’s largest aftermarket alliance. Following the review in June, NEXUS has focused on further enhancing its role in three key areas: as a leading market influencer, as a successful business development partner and as an incubator for innovation.

Speaking on its “fast track” approach for Africa, NEXUS CEO Gael Escribe said many people looked on the continent as a whole, rather than examining the uniqueness of its individual regions and markets. “We well understand the potential for business in Africa and know that the N! Community must be well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities as they evolve,” said Escribe. “In order to help ‘fast track’ business development in Africa we are on the way to establishing two innovative entities, one in French-speaking West Africa, called IAMaga, and a second to come in East Africa.”

Escribe added, “We know it is essential to have ‘feet on the ground’ in the various geographies, as reflected by the tremendous support we enjoy for our globally deployed business development team. Similar initiatives will also be launched in the Chinese aftermarket, for similar reasons, before the end of the year.”

Martin Hendriksen, business development director for Africa, said, “For those not yet able to commit extensive resources to the African continent, these new structures will offer suppliers the additional value of trade representation alongside the traditional business development our community has grown to value. It will take our support for suppliers to the next level in these regions.”

Escribe added, “A ‘new’, even more focused NEXUS 2.0 has emerged from the strategic review. Along with the announcement on Africa and China, we will be unveiling several other exciting new initiatives at our next NEXUS Business Forum in March next year.”

Following successful Forums in Montreux and Abu Dhabi, N!BF 2020 will take place March 10-12 in Amsterdam, in The Netherlands.

In the meantime, NEXUS is inviting automotive professionals to visit its stand (1M069) at the Equip Auto Show in Paris, Oct. 15-19.
