Eaton has named Karl Sievertsen vice president, engineering, and chief technical officer, Eaton’s Vehicle Group, succeeding Gerard DeVito. Sievertsen will be based in Galesburg, Michigan.
Sievertsen joined Eaton in 2002 as a valve actuation manufacturing engineering manager. Since then, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, including manufacturing engineering manager, Automotive; product director, Advanced Valvetrain; and vice president and general manager, Engine Air Management.
“Karl’s unique blend of technical, commercial and manufacturing experience make him ideally suited for his new role, where he will be responsible for directing all engineering activities for the Vehicle Group to ensure that financial, growth, productivity and innovation objectives are met,” said João Faria, president, Eaton’s Vehicle Group.
Prior to joining Eaton, Sievertsen held various engineering and leadership positions at Rockford Products Corp. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
