EnerSys To Highlight Expanded ODYSSEY Battery Product Offerings At 2019 TMC Annual Meeting

This year’s event will be held from March 18-21 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

EnerSys, manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, will highlight the latest ODYSSEY battery and charger product offerings in booth No. 3104 at the American Trucking Association (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) 2019 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition. This year’s event will be held from March 18-21 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The ODYSSEY battery product exhibit will feature the ODYSSEY Performance Series 4D-1300 and 8D-1500 batteries, engineered to power heavy-duty commercial trucks, earthmovers, transit bus and marine applications. The ODYSSEY Performance Series 4D-1300 battery provides 1,300 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) of engine starting power, while the ODYSSEY Performance Series 8D-1500 battery provides 1,500 CCA.

Also on display will be the ODYSSEY Performance Series 31-925 battery with 925 CCA of engine starting power, designed to handle the increased use of onboarding accessories in today’s vehicles.

“The TMC Show provides the perfect stage to introduce our expanded line of ODYSSEY battery products to the trucking industry’s technicians and maintenance personnel who keep our nation’s wheels turning,” said Alan Kohler, transportation and specialty marketing manager at EnerSys. “This year’s meeting theme, ‘Beyond the Frontier of Maintenance,’ is exactly what EnerSys strives to achieve with the ODYSSEY battery and charger lines – that is a high performance, power solution that is virtually maintenance-free.”

Also highlighted during this year’s annual meeting will be the ODYSSEY battery shop chargers that are offered in a range of 12-volts – 35-amp, 70-amp and 105-amp – and are capable of operating in a freestanding or wall-mounted capacity. The 70- and 105-amp units use a 4.3-inch multi-color dashboard screen with a customer-friendly, programmable menu that displays color changes to indicate charge condition.

In addition, the OBT2000HD battery tester also will be featured in this year’s ODYSSEY booth. Applicable for both commercial truck and passenger car applications, the OBT2000HD has a test range of 40 to 6,000 CCA and a 14.8-foot (4.5 meter) cable. It offers a voltage range of 1.5Vdc to 60Vdc, and an operating temperature of 32°F (0°C) to 122°F (50°C).

ODYSSEY batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77°F (25°C). They are vibration resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a limited three-year full replacement warranty.
