Centric Parts Introduces Air Disc Brake Program For Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Centric Parts’ new program features air disc brake pads, rotors and repair kits for all makes. It adds to a range of replacement parts for light-, medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles launched by APC Automotive Technologies in early 2018.

Centric Parts, a division of APC Automotive Technologies, has just introduced its new air disc brake program for heavy-duty vehicles. The program was introduced by Greg Woo, president of Centric Parts, who noted that this new offering represents one of the industry’s most complete air disc brake programs available for Class 7 and 8 commercial vehicles.

Centric Parts’ new program features air disc brake pads, rotors and repair kits for all-makes. It adds to a range of replacement parts for light-, medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles launched by APC Automotive Technologies in early 2018. The APC program covers all classes of commercial vehicles and includes a wide range of high-quality manufactured components from APC’s DieselTech (exhaust and emissions), recently acquired DuraFit (aftertreatment) and Centric Parts (brake systems) brands.

Centric Air Disc Brake Pads are available in two grades of application-specific friction (106 Series: 23K and 306 Series: 26K) and in more than 20 FMSI shapes. The pads are 100-percent FMVSS 121 and ISO 26866 compliant. They feature OE-design coated backing plates to prevent corrosion and pad binding. Centric Parts employs a proprietary PadLock friction retention system to inhibit pad delamination in extreme conditions and adds a Mu 500 bed-in coating to increase initial bite and optimize the burnishing process for smooth, quiet performance.

The Centric Air Disc Brake Rotor line features more than 25 SKUs of both coated and uncoated rotors that meet or exceed OEM fit, form and function. They are engineered and manufactured to outperform original equipment, incorporating proprietary metallurgy and design enhancements for increased performance, service life and durability. Repair kits include guide pin kits, seals and tappet kits just to name a few.

“The addition of air disc brake products to Centric’s industry-leading medium-duty brake program creates a full-spectrum commercial vehicle brake program that greatly enhances our ability to serve our customers and accelerates our penetration into the heavy-duty aftermarket,” said Don Orrell, director of sales and marketing, Centric Parts Commercial Vehicle Team. “With this latest addition, Centric Parts significantly strengthens our ability to service independent distributors and fleets in the commercial vehicle aftermarket, by offering a complete, one-stop brake parts solution.”

“Centric and APC continue to make strategic investments where there are opportunities to expand our product offering,” said Woo. “Our air disc brake program brings our highly respected brand of brake products a step further, and fits our philosophy as a vertically integrated category leader. We are also now the only aftermarket brand that has complete coverage all the way from Class 1 passenger cars through Class 8 tractors and trailers. We believe this is an additional proof-point of how we’re listening to the needs of the market and responding, as well as our position as the leading engineered-brake brand in the aftermarket.”

Orrell added, “Centric ADB components are exact-fit, OEM-equivalent replacements for both standard and severe-duty applications, and in many cases out-perform the OE parts. Because they are offered at competitive aftermarket pricing, they provide a superior value proposition over new OES parts.”
