Trevor Albert Musso, 80, of Montross, Virginia, passed away on May 27 at his home. He was an automotive aftermarket legend in his time.
Beginning in 1959, Musso worked for British Auto Parts in San Francisco, then moved to Southern California where he was vice president of sales at Bap Geon, then CEO of Contemporary Marketing Concepts, his advertising agency, and vice president of sales for ITM Automotive in California. In 1989, Trevor moved to the East Coast and started Musso and Associates Inc., a rep firm marketing products for various U.S. automotive aftermarket companies until his retirement in 2012. The Auto International Association honored Musso as AIA Lifetime Industry Achiever in Las Vegas in 2001.
He was most honored to have served in the U.S. Army (1956-1958). From his youth until just a few years ago, Trevor was an avid competitive and casual sailor.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Dale Clarke Musso; sons, Trevor A. Musso, Jr. of Farnham, VA; Michael Musso (Kristie) of Fountain Valley, CA; Paul Musso (Nell) of Huntington Beach, CA and Gregory Gruner (Terry) of Warsaw, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jaime Sundby (Patrick), Cara Harris, Heidi Fifita (Steve), Lauren Anders (Allan), Katie Wurzell (Ryan), Brayden Clark and Liam Gruner, and 12 great grandchildren. Trevor is also survived by two brothers, Dwight Musso of California and Dean Musso, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent John and Ruth Trick Musso and two grandsons Baby Trevor and Michael George Musso II.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, June 15, at Stratford Harbour Club House, 2675 N. Independence Drive, Montross, Virginia.
