The NPD Group Names Nathan Shipley As Executive Director For US Automotive Aftermarket Practice

Most recently, Shipley held the role of director and industry analyst for the past two years, serving as NPD's automotive aftermarket spokesperson and providing industry insights on key trends and future growth opportunities.

The NPD Group has named Nathan Shipley as executive director and industry analyst for the firm’s automotive aftermarket business.

Shipley has 15 years of experience in market research, working closely with both point-of-sale and consumer information, is a frequent speaker at industry events and is often quoted in the media.

“Nathan has built an extensive knowledge of the automotive aftermarket through his years of experience, personal passion and deep-rooted client relationships he has fostered through the years. His in-depth understanding of aftermarket trends and the surrounding macro-environment makes him a valuable asset to our automotive clients and retail partners striving to move the market forward,” said Dawn Zieren, president of NPD’s automotive aftermarket practice.

Most recently, Shipley held the role of director and industry analyst for the past two years, serving as NPD’s automotive aftermarket spokesperson and providing industry insights on key trends and future growth opportunities. Prior to that, he was director of client development, beginning in 2010. Shipley began his career as an NPD account manager, and also spent three years at Nielsen, working as part of the client development team on a major consumer packaged goods manufacturer’s business.

“New technologies, a reinvention of the shopping experience and evolving consumer behavior both in and out of the driver’s seat are just some of the bigger picture developments shaking retail overall, and cascading into the aftermarket industry. At NPD, we are equipped to take a deep dive into these high-level trends and translate what that means for our aftermarket industry, to see the full scope and stay ahead of the curve,” said Shipley.
