Baja Designs Awarded US Department Of Commerce Export Achievement Award

Baja Designs joined SEMA on all three trade trips the organization traveled to: China, Australia and the Middle East. The award was created to acknowledge global marketplace achievements.

The United States Department of Commerce International Trade Administration has awarded the Export Achievement Certificate to Baja Designs in recognition of the company’s international trade trips to foreign countries with Linda Spencer, senior director of international and government relations with SEMA.

Baja Designs joined SEMA on all three trade trips the organization traveled to: China, Australia and the Middle East. The award, created to acknowledge global marketplace achievements, was presented to Brennan Scully and Pauline Scully of Baja Designs at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

“All of us at Baja Designs are honored by this award. We have really expanded our efforts to reach more people in different countries, and traveling with SEMA helped us to do just that,” said Chris Fortunato, marketing manager for Baja Designs. “Without SEMA and their international outreach trips, we would not have been able to see the success we have seen over the past year, and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to travel with them.”

Baja Designs has seen an increase in sales of 65 percent in the past year and is expanding its product line to include more lights and systems for different purposes. The company debuted its LP9 light at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The new technologies incorporated into the LP9 makes it stand apart from any other auxiliary light on the market. It is a fresh take on the classic look, and is targeted to Jeep and other SUV vehicles, including cross-country/overland vehicles, full-size trucks and race vehicles, as well as anyone looking for a full size, 8-inch light. Baja Designs engineers created a completely new housing with state-of-the-art LED technologies – marrying the high intensity, long distance, very tight pattern features found in the original La Paz light with Baja Designs’ latest LED lighting technology. In the process, the engineering team incorporated new technologies to deliver close range, cornering and nearfield “comfort zone” visibility for the LP9.
