CTEK To Feature Latest Creation From Johan Eriksson At SEMA 2017

In addition to Eriksson, CTEK also will have 2015 Formula Drift Champion Fredric Aasbo in its booth on Tuesday, Oct. 31 to meet fans and sign autographs at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

CTEK, the Swedish maker of advanced battery chargers/maintainers, will feature the latest creation from famed Swedish customizer Johan Eriksson – a radical Dodge Charger RTR – at its booth (No. 24943) at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. Eriksson describes this project as his most extreme to date, in both performance and design. The Charger RTR is a continuation of the radical thinking that made Eriksson’s earlier Dodge the hit of the 2013 SEMA show and went on to win numerous awards worldwide.

The Charger RTR will be unveiled by Eriksson in the CTEK booth at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. In addition, Eriksson will be on-hand for “Meet the Builder” sessions at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, and Thursday, Nov. 2, to discuss his work and answer questions from the audience. The 2017 SEMA Show will be held in Las Vegas from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.

In addition to Eriksson, CTEK also will have 2015 Formula Drift Champion Fredric Aasbo in its booth on Tuesday, Oct. 31 to meet fans and sign autographs at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

“We think it is especially appropriate that CTEK – the world’s leading name in automotive battery chargers – will have a ‘Charger’ in it’s SEMA booth,” said Bobbie DuMelle, executive vice president of CTEK North America.

The RTR features a high-performance V-10 engine from a Dodge Viper equipped with twin turbochargers, generating approximately 1500 hp. The car also features a powerful Pioneer hi-fi system consisting of nine amplifiers to power 21 speakers and subwoofers that is driven by four AGM batteries. A bank of four CTEK MXS 25EC chargers/maintainers are used to keep the batteries in top condition.

“Johan is a visionary who is constantly looking for new challenges and the RTR is the culmination of his creative efforts,” said DuMelle. “His craftsmanship and desire for the ultimate in performance reflect CTEK’s company culture.”

With his 10th victory this year, Aasbo became the driver with the most wins in Formula Drift history. He won the championship in 2015 and finished second in 2016. He is currently in contention for the title this year. CETK sponsors Aasbo and his Papadakis Racing Team, and they are enthusiastic users of CTEK chargers.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017, CTEK was formed by Creator Teknisk Utveckling AB, a leading Swedish industrial design consulting firm. A major battery manufacturer hired Creator for research and development of batteries and later for research on a new system of battery chargers. CTEK emerged from the innovative charging solutions that were developed to meet the requirements for maintenance of this new generations of batteries.
