University Of The Aftermarket To Present ‘Aftermarket 101’ Program For New Aftermarket Employees

The program provides employees who are new to the aftermarket with a better understanding of the industry, its structure and big-picture trends.

The University of the Aftermarket, in cooperation with the Auto Care Association, will present its annual “Aftermarket 101” program in May 16-17 in Southfield, Michigan. The program provides employees who are new to the aftermarket with a better understanding of the industry, its structure and big-picture trends.

During the day-and-a-half program, which is open to any new employee in the automotive aftermarket, participants will be exposed to key information about the aftermarket, its history, scope, market channels, customers and trends. Faculty will expose these new employees to the complexities of the industry, including its use of acronyms and jargon.

Specific subjects include:

  • Industry basics, channels and terminology
  • Development of the North American aftermarket
  • Current state of the aftermarket
  • Distribution: structure and trends
  • The global aftermarket
  • Motorist and consumer concerns
  • Manufacturing issues and trends
  • Service Dealers: How my business works
  • Macro trends: The big picture
  • Field trip to visit a traditional WD

Registration is $700 for both days, and includes lunch and all course materials.
