DENSO Announces New Senior Remanufacturing Engineer

In the newly created position, D.J. “Dong Ju” Park is responsible for all engineering and design aspects of DENSO’s remanufacturing activities, including its growth initiatives to meet increasing market demand for top-quality reman products in North America.

Denso - LogoDENSO Products and Services Americas Inc., an affiliate of leading global automotive supplier DENSO Corp., has named D.J. “Dong Ju” Park senior manager of engineering and electrical operations at its Murrieta, California, remanufacturing plant. In the newly created position, Park is responsible for all engineering and design aspects of DENSO’s remanufacturing activities, including its growth initiatives to meet increasing market demand for top-quality reman products in North America.

Park joins DENSO with more than 20 years of experience as an electrical and mechanical engineer in both the OE and aftermarket segments of the automotive industry. His specialties include rotating electrical products and reverse engineering in remanufacturing. Park also has extensive administrative experience in product development, design, process improvement and quality assurance.

DENSO’s Murrieta plant specializes in the remanufacturing of rotating electrical products – starters, alternators and fuel injectors – as well as diesel products. This month, DENSO is completing an upgrade of the facility, which includes a new supply pump product line and expands its fuel injector performance bench test capabilities.

“We are thrilled to welcome D.J. Park to our engineering team,” said Yijun Peng, general manager of Remanufacturing Operations for DENSO Products and Services Americas. “We look forward to his technical and professional leadership as DENSO increases its market presence as a leading supplier of superior reman products.”

Prior to joining DENSO, Park worked as a product engineering manager for BorgWarner Inc. In that position, he served as a technical lead at the corporation’s fuel-efficiency technology center in Pendleton, Indiana, which specializes in alternative energy alternators, starters and hybrid motors that combine electrical power with gasoline-fueled systems.

Park entered the automotive industry in 1995 as a quality assurance manager for FASCO Motors in Ontario, Canada. In 1996, he joined Remy International Inc. as a quality manager. Park rose to engineering specialist and engineering manager, working at various Remy facilities through 2014.

With highly specialized training and experience in multiple engineering and manufacturing disciplines, Park holds three intellectual property patents and has a fourth patent pending. He is a graduate of Kwangwoon University in Seoul, South Korea, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He joined DENSO Products and Services Americas’ Murrieta operation on Nov. 14, 2016.
