Katharina Dabernig of Akron, Ohio, is the 2016 recipient of the Don Bethune Scholarship through the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, funded by Dayco in memory of its late president.
Dabernig, a rising junior at The University of Akron, will receive a $1,000 award. She plans to pursue a career at her family’s aftermarket business in Cleveland.
Dayco established its scholarships through the GAAS Scholarships in memory of its late president Don Bethune, who died in 2012.
“These scholarships are a continuing tribute to Don, in recognition of his contributions to the automotive aftermarket,” said Ed Rammel, MAAP, president, Dayco North American and Australian Aftermarket. “We are pleased to help Katharina as she continues her education and career.”
