SEMA Data Co-op Reaches Membership Milestone

More than 1,200 member companies are participating in the industry's premier data repository, specifically designed for the automotive aftermarket and specialty equipment industry.

SDC - SEMA - LogoThe SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) has reached a new membership milestone, with more than 1,200 member companies participating in the industry’s premier data repository, specifically designed for the automotive aftermarket and specialty equipment industry.

Since launching in a beta phase in April 2012, the SDC has received strong support and adoption of its product data management and distribution services, now being used by more than 440 supplier brands and more than  770 data receivers, representing tens of thousands of retail, wholesale and e-commerce sellers.

“Coming off of a strong 2015, we’re very excited about the momentum and brand recognition that the SDC has achieved,” said Jim Graven, director of membership for the SDC. “In just four years, we have established our position as the largest industry accessible product information database, and are now delivering tens of thousands of data exports monthly. With more than 4 million part numbers and nearly 50 million vehicle applications, the scope of the SDC continues to grow at a very steady rate, and there appears to be no end in sight as we continue to add new members every week.”

The SDC’s full-featured solution includes comprehensive data validation tools, unlimited secure storage and an easy-to-use web interface for supplier members to manage their product data. In addition, data receivers can get exports formatted specifically to their requirements, and can manage delivery of data through a versatile scheduling tool.

Jon Wyly, CEO of the SDC, added, “It’s been a challenging project to build our technology and service solution, but we have a solid system in place now that is showing great momentum and enthusiastic adoption from across the industry. We have the best data experts available making it all happen, and all of our technology development and customer support are now accomplished with dedicated internal staff. We encourage all suppliers and receivers to join the co-op and experience our expert customer support and state-of-the-art technology. There are no set-up fees or costs to sign up, and membership fees don’t begin until data is flowing.”
