Edelbrock’s Steve Whipple has been selected as the Performance Warehouse Association’s (PWA) 2015 Person of the Year. Every year, the Performance Warehouse Association announces its Person of the Year award at the annual SEMA Industry Awards Banquet. The award is voted on by the distributor membership of PWA for individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the specialty equipment industry.

Whipple has been with Edelbrock for more than 16 years, serving as vice president of sales and marketing. He got his start in aftermarket manufacturing with Nitrous Oxide Systems, managing the sales and marketing departments. He began his career in the industry on the retail side with Super Shops in the 1976, working with them for more than 20 years, as they became the largest speed shop chain in the country.

Whipple said, “I’m very honored to have been recognized as the 2015 Person of the Year by the Performance Warehouse Association. I would like to thank the members of PWA, along with my friends, family and coworkers for their support. I really have to give special thanks my team at Edelbrock. When you have good people who are really passionate about their work and the industry, it makes everybody’s job easier and our customers see that.”

“Steve has been a great asset for our company. His early experience in the retail side of our industry has made an everlasting impression on him. This experience has allowed him to build great relationships with our distribution partners by understanding their needs,” stated Wayne Murray, Edelbrock president.
