Dayco-2015-LogoDayco announced that its manufacturing plant in Ivrea, Italy, has been named a recipient of the Gold Supplier Certification as part of Caterpillar’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP). This award recognizes suppliers that have achieved Caterpillar Quality Management System supplier certification, which includes suppliers’ commitment to providing exceptional service, quality and delivery performance on an ongoing basis.

“Dayco is proud to work closely with Caterpillar in helping them continue to be successful as a well-respected global producer of industrial machinery and engines,” said John Bohenick, CEO for Dayco. “Our associates at all facilities worldwide possess a deep-seated commitment to customer success and improving how people live and work. We thank Caterpillar once again for recognizing our ability to meet and exceed their customer satisfaction expectations.”

Through demonstrated results, Dayco has exhibited excellent process control, has shown a desire for ongoing continuous improvement, and has provided quality product to their Caterpillar customers, according to Caterpillar. Dayco supplies both belt tensioners and idler pulleys to Caterpillar for its 1100 and 1200 series engines, along with industry-leading technical and sales support.

“Caterpillar continues to be a valuable customer for Dayco in the industrial market and has been for more than 30 years,” said Paul DiLisio, senior vice president of automotive and industrial OE sales. “Our associates understand, and value, the power of building things to last which shows up in our products and our customer relationships.”

Opened in 1999, the Dayco plant in Ivrea manufactures a wide range of belt tensioners, idler pulleys and dampers for use in both automotive and industrial applications. More than 500 associates work at the site, which also houses research and development capabilities.

In June, the Dayco belt tensioner and idler manufacturing facility in Wujiang, China, was awarded the Silver Supplier Certification from Caterpillar.
