Federal-Mogul Opens ‘Garage Gurus’ Training Center In Los Angeles County

The company celebrated the grand opening of a state-of-the-art training center in Rancho Dominguez on July 18.

Garage Gurus - LogoLos Angeles is the latest location added to Federal-Mogul’s new nationwide “Garage Gurus” technical training network for automotive repair professionals. The company celebrated the grand opening of a state-of-the-art training center in Rancho Dominguez on July 18.

Established by Federal-Mogul Motorparts to help repair professionals keep pace with the latest automotive technologies, the Garage Gurus facility will offer on-site, online and on-demand training and related support to professionals from among the region’s more than 15,500 vehicle repair businesses. The company opened its first Los Angeles-area Garage Gurus training center, in Van Nuys, California, in April.

“There is tremendous demand for high-quality technical training and product support that are both accessible and affordable for today’s front-line repair professionals. Garage Gurus is the first program of its kind nationwide to address this need,” said Dan Ninivaggi, CEO, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “We are confident that area professionals will rely on this facility to help advance their careers by mastering the diagnostic and repair requirements related to each new generation of vehicles.”

According to Federal-Mogul, accessing critical diagnostic and repair information and related skills-based training has long been a challenge for the nation’s nearly 220,000 automotive repair businesses. The company aims to answer this need with Garage Gurus and its more than 100 onsite, online and on-demand courses taught by Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ 100-plus ASE-certified “Gurus.” Each course is offered in English and Spanish languages.

Area technicians, shop owners and others got a first-hand look at the modern diagnostic equipment and other resources available in the new training center, located at 2121 Paulhan Street in Rancho Dominguez. They also inspected two of Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Web-connected “Gurus-On-The-Go” product technology vans, which travel among regional repair shops, providing technicians with problem-solving solutions, technical assistance and local training.

The new training center is the seventh of up to 15 Garage Gurus locations scheduled to open this year. The training network is already operating in Atlanta; Baltimore; Chicago; Dallas/Fort Worth; the Bronx, New York; and Van Nuys, California.
