Bridgestone Retail Operations, Shell Lubricants Announce Supplier Of Choice Agreement

shell-lubricantsBLOOMINGDALE, Ill. – Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) and Shell Lubricants Americas have announced an agreement making Shell the supplier of choice for automotive lubricants used by BSRO’s more than 2,200 company-owned, U.S.-based tire and automotive service centers, starting Jan. 1, 2016.

As part of the agreement, Shell Lubricants will supply BSRO stores with Quaker State brand conventional motor oils, Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic motor oils with PurePlus Technology and Shell Rotella brand heavy-duty engine oils. BSRO owns and operates tire and automotive service centers across the United States under the Firestone Complete Auto Care, Tires Plus, Hibdon Tires Plus and Wheel Works brands.

“Our goal is to be a top customer service provider and retailer, so bringing greater standardization to our operations and giving our customers a more consistent experience in every one of our stores is paramount,” said Stu Crum, BSRO chairman and president. “Safety and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. Key supplier relationships like this new agreement with Shell Lubricants will allow us to put an even greater focus on the hands-on efforts that enable our vision.”

According to BSRO, Shell Lubricants was chosen following a thorough evaluation process and was selected for its outstanding brand portfolio, commitment to technology, innovative operations solutions, field-based account support, comprehensive supply and distribution network and marketing track record.

“Strategic relationships with suppliers equipped to be a single source of high-quality products, brand recognition and an operational model aligned with our own is one way we will continue to deliver what our 22 million yearly customers have come to know us for,” added Crum.

Shell lubricants used at BSRO stores will be recycled in line with the company’s automotive waste recycling efforts. In 2014 alone, BSRO stores recycled more than 10.6 million gallons of oil.

“As leaders in our respective industries, we share the common goal of putting the customer at the heart of what we do by offering the highest level of products and  services,” said Colin Abraham, president, Shell Lubricants Americas. “We are very pleased to have been chosen as the lubricants supplier of choice by BSRO. I look forward to a long and mutually positive relationship.”
