Takata Corp. Names Bruce Angiolillo General Counsel, TK Holdings

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. & TOKYO – Takata Corp., a global supplier of automotive safety systems, has named Bruce Angiolillo as general counsel of TK Holdings Inc., the North American subsidiary of Takata Corp., effective Jan. 1, 2015. Angiolillo joins Takata following a 34-year career at the highly respected global law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

As General Counsel of TK Holdings, Angiolillo will oversee all North American legal and regulatory matters at the company and work directly with Takata’s senior management, external legal counsel and the company’s governing bodies. He will play an integral role in Takata’s continued efforts to work cooperatively with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and other regulators to resolve all outstanding issues related to the safety campaigns associated with certain Takata airbag inflators.

While at Simpson Thacher, Angiolillo led the firm’s Securities Litigation Practice. He has represented numerous large corporations and other high-profile clients, providing counsel on a wide range of situations, including class actions, derivative actions, contests for corporate control, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigations. Angiolillo has been ranked in “Band 1” by Chambers USA as a Leading Individual in Securities Litigation in New York and nationally for the past 10 consecutive years (2005 to 2014). He is a frequent speaker on securities and other litigation topics.

Angiolillo received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Amherst College in 1974 and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1977, where he is a member of the Board of Visitors.
