ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Of America Breaks Ground On 60,000-Square-Foot Expansion

The $26 million investment is expected to create 200 new jobs.

HAMILTON, Ohio – ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America today hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on its new building expansion. The event took place at the company’s headquarters in Hamilton, Ohio, and was attended by Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, President and CEO of ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America Fabian Schmahl and numerous state officials.

The expanded facility will manufacture new high-end shock absorbers for the North American automotive market.

“This is a great day for Bilstein, Butler County and the community of Hamilton,” said Schmahl. “As we move forward with the expansion of our facility, I’d like to personally thank Governor Kasich, Lieutenant Governor Taylor, their staff and all the state and local officials for their support on this endeavor.

“Expanding our plant here is good news for the site, employees and the region,” he added. “This investment is a vote of confidence in our facility and ability to successfully compete in the highly competitive automotive marketplace. There’s no question we made the right choice coming to Hamilton with this project.”

This investment is a part of ThyssenKrupp Bilstein’s commitment to provide the newest technology in the market and to improve the overall service it can provide to customers.

The company worked with JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati and the City of Hamilton to secure this project for Ohio.
