MIAMI The Speed, Motor and CMA Warehouses CARS Expo grew by another 25 percent to encompass all four halls of the Santa Clara Convention Center in the heart of Silicon Valley, Calif. Featured this year were the Edelbrock Race Trailer and the Federal-Mogul Mobile Tech Truck.
The show, produced by parent company National Performance Warehouse (NPW), opened with the Oakland Raiderettes greeting jobbers, installers, techs and auto enthusiasts from across California. Door prizes were drawn every five minutes with a 50-inch or larger TV given away on the hour. The show ended with a 70-inch LED TV and a Caribbean Cruise being given away. There were hundreds of classic, custom, restored or exotic vehicles on display, which added to the overall theme and interest of the show.
On Saturday evening, a reception was held for suppliers and special guests where awards were presented for categories such as Rep of the Year, Supplier of the Year, Performance and Traditional Retailers of the Year and Hall of Fame Inductees. A Machine Shop of the Year category was new this year.
“Amazing how this event has grown in three years. In just this short time, we are using the whole facility," said Larry Pacey, the company’s president and CEO. "The suppliers have really supported this event and have enabled us to keep it fun, interesting and profitable for our jobbers and educational and entertaining for installers and enthusiasts. We are looking forward to making the next expo even better.”
NPW produces three trade events annually: the FAST Expo in Miami, Fla., the KARS Expo in Toronto, Canada, and the CARS Expo in San Jose, Calif.
