Industry Veteran Jack Lorimer Retires After 44 Years

Lorimer started his career with Gates Rubber Co. in 1970.

Longtime automotive aftermarket and heavy-duty industry executive, John "Jack" Lorimer retired on April 1, after 44 years in the industry.
 
Lorimer started his career with Gates Rubber Co. in 1970. In addition, his career included being zone sales manager at Champion Parts Rebuilders; general manager at Patton Distributors; vice president of APS Inc. (Big A Auto Parts); vice president and general manager of Midland Heavy Duty Systems (now Haldex); president of Dacco Inc.; director, A/M, BorgWarner Turbo Systems; and most recently as CEO of BU Drive Inc. USA. BU Drive USA recently entered into a joint venture with IPD Inc., and a new company was formed, IPD Turbocharging Systems LLC. Lorimer has spent the past two months in a consulting position with IPD to help with a streamlined transition.
 
Lorimer has been an active participant and frequent presenter at many of the industry’s leading associations and organizations, such as HDAW, Heavy Duty Forum, CFS, NWRA, ADS and others.
 
"As my retirement approaches I look back in amazement at the speed of which the past 44 years has gone by," Lorimer said. "I am blessed to have had a long and satisfying career for which I was so passionately involved. I leave this industry with many fond memories, a great many wonderful stories and many dear friends and acquaintances. I want to thank the myriad of people who helped my career along the way. It would have been impossible to achieve my success without the support of my family, friends and colleagues along the way."
