Automechanika Istanbul, Turkey’s Leading International Automotive Trade Fair, To Take Place April 10-13, 2014

From 2014 onward, the fair will take place annually, rather than biannually.

ISTANBUL – Another edition of Automechanika Istanbul is set to take place in April 2014.

Turkey’s leading international trade fair for the automotive industry is switching to an annual cycle. Event organizers say Automechanika Istanbul 2014 will be larger than ever and mirrors the strong mood of Turkish economy to an international automotive audience.

Automechanika Istanbul will open its doors from April 10 to 13, 2014, in Turkey. This international trade fair has been held since 2001 at Istanbul’s TUYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center and is organized by two of the world’s largest fair organizers: Messe Frankfurt and Deutsche Messe. The fair has shown a significant growth in many aspects: last edition’s figures of 1,245 exhibitors and 43,812 visitors represents an increase of more than 10 percent compared to the previous edition. Event organizers report that Automechanika Istanbul will continue its strong performance and it will be more international than ever. Turkish and international industries have already shown strong demand for exhibit space.

The event has taken a position as the leading international fair in Turkey and Eurasian region. All relevant professionals and decision-makers from the automotive manufacturing, distribution and repair sectors in the region come together under one roof, creating a powerful gathering of industry leaders.

Automechanika fairs are organized all around the globe in 13 different cities. Following the same concept, products showcased at Automechanika Istanbul fall into one of these six categories:

·      Parts & Components
·      Electronics & Systems
·      Accessories & Tuning
·      Repair & Maintenance
·      IT & Management
·      Service Station & Car Wash

The credibility of this event is demonstrated by the support of a number of
recognized industry associations including AASA – Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association; APRA – Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association; ASA – Federal Association of the Manufacturers and Importers of Automobile Service Equipment (Germany); EGEA – European Garage Equipment Association (Belgium); HDMA – Heavy Duty Manufacturers Alliance; MEMA – Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association; OAC – Overseas Automotive Council; TAYSAD – Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers in Turkey; ZDK – German Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs.

Petroleum Istanbul, the International Petroleum, LPG, Lubricants Equipment and Technologies Trade Fair will no longer be running at the same time as Automechanika Istanbul. Some of the trade-oriented product groups from this fair will be incorporated into the Automechanika Istanbul product group portfolio.

From 2014 onward, the fair will take place annually, rather than bi-annually. "The change into the annual cycle underlines the dynamic state of the Turkish automotive industry and will give exhibitors and visitors alike the opportunity to sell and trade in the Turkish market on a more frequent basis. This is a major advantage when positioning new products and services in the Turkish market and will create an annual gathering within one of the most important automotive industries of the globe,” said Tayfun Yardim, project manager for Automechanika Istanbul.
