PLYMOUTH, Mich. Johnson Controls Automotive Seating was recently recognized by Manufacturing Executive, a global association for manufacturing executives, with its Manufacturing Leadership 100 (ML100) Award in the Global Value Chain category.
The company was honored for implementing a new business initiative that integrated logistics and operational processes across its plants using Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) software. Manufacturing Executive and its ML100 Awards honor companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. Nominations are entered into a variety of categories and are evaluated by a panel of expert judges.
"This award is a testament to the commitment of our employees and leadership team to achieving business process excellence for our entire global supply chain," said Randall Urban, vice president, IT applications management for Johnson Controls Automotive Seating.
According to Urban, by integrating the company’s logistics processes across its plants, finance and purchasing system, Johnson Controls was able to improve customer response times and standardize operational processes. The processes also increased the availability of individual plant-level information for analysis as well as information accuracy and consistency and speed of data availability, Urban said.
