Postcard from Automechanika: Taking E-Mobility for a Test Drive

AMN Editor Amy Antenora explores the outdoor "Agora" section at this year's show featuring an e-mobility proving ground. The display was presented by Karabag, in conjunction with Linde Material Handling and STILL GmbH.

As discussed in the full day of presentations on the subject at the Aftermarket Forum, "E-Mobility" is a key theme for Automechanika Frankfurt 2012. In addition to educational sessions and product exhibitions surrounding the subject, Hamburg-based electro-mobility pioneer Karabag, in conjunction with Kion Group company Linde Material Handling (manufacturers of forklift electric motors for decades and suppliers of the powertrain for the Karabag new500E) and STILL GmbH (which maintains and repairs these components), have partnered to set up a special event in the outdoor "Agora" section at this year’s show that displays the various ways in which the e-mobility is being utilized today. Automechanika attendees had the opportunity to experience e-mobility first hand at this electric vehicle proving ground.
