TORRANCE, Calif. – Edelbrock recently announced the acquisition of SX Performance, which was an affiliate of Essex Industries Inc.

SX Performance has been designing and manufacturing advanced fluid delivery systems for aerospace, military and automotive use for more than 60 years. The company has a proven track record in aerospace design, manufacturing, quality control, distribution and customer service while serving some of the largest names in the aerospace and armed forces sectors.

SX Performance is very familiar to Edelbrock, as the company has been manufacturing all Edelbrock electric Quiet-Flo fuel pumps, in-line fuel pumps and regulators since 2003. According to Edelbrock, this acquisition will reduce production lead times, allow Edelbrock to become more price competitive and raise the quality to even higher standards in the fuel delivery and component marketplace.

"We are excited to add SX Performance to our portfolio of products," said Steve Whipple, Edelbrock’s VP of sales and marketing. "We look forward to developing new and exciting products for the race and street performance markets."

The acquisition includes all manufacturing equipment, raw materials, current and future product designs as well as any existing inventory. Additionally, Edelbrock will continue to support all of SX Performance’s existing customers. The entire operation has already transitioned from St. Louis, Mo., to Edelbrock’s facility in Torrance, Calif.
