10 Years and Counting: Pirelli Celebrates in Georgia

The tiremaker moved its U.S. and Canada headquarters to Rome in 2002, in to a 400,000-square-foot facility that included the company's automated MIRS tire production system. Since then, some of PTNA's business operations have shifted to New York City, but the 127-acre facility still serves as its manufacturing base, home to one of Pirelli's five global R&D centers, and as headquarters for Pirelli's NAFTA Region.

PTNA commemorated its 10-year anniversary by becoming a partner in the Rome Area History Museum and inaugurating an exhibit that includes the first tire produced at the Rome plant.

The tiremaker said it “plans to maintain an active presence in the community in initiatives that are closely tied to education and environmental awareness as delineated by its corporate social responsibility charter.”
