Web-Based University of the Aftermarket ‘On-Demand’ Feature Goes Live with Seven New Courses on Product Data Standards

Delivered via advanced streaming video technology, convenient short-format courses explore industry's ACES and PIES standards.

MIDLAND, Mich. – The University of the Aftermarket “On-Demand,” a convenient and affordable new industry training initiative utilizing advanced streaming video technology, went live yesterday with an initial series of seven short-format courses covering aftermarket data standards. University of the Aftermarket “On-Demand” programs are offered on a 24/7 basis at www.universityoftheaftermarket.com.

Courses now available are: “Building Blocks and Basics” (ACES 101) and “Electronic Standards Executive Briefing” (TECH 101), presented by Scott Luckett, vice president, technology standards and solutions, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association; “A Case for ACES” (ACES 102), presented by Todd Campau, MAHLE Clevite Inc.; “Getting Started, Level I” (ACES 201) and “Level II” (ACES 202), presented by Doug Winsby, The Winsby Group; and “Why Data Matters” (PIES 101) and “Getting Started” (PIES 102), led by Ryan Vernon of Direct Communications Inc.

Each program is between 25 and 40 minutes in length and accredited for 0.1 continuing education units (CEU), which can be applied toward the participant’s Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificate. The "Electronic Standards Executive Briefing" (TECH 101) session is available at no charge. The price of the other courses is $49.95 each, which can be paid online by secure credit card transaction.

“Our ‘On-Demand’ feature eliminates the three leading barriers to participation in University of the Aftermarket programming – distance, time and cost,” said Brian Cruickshank, AAP, director of the University of the Aftermarket. “Our course offering will expand dramatically in the coming months with timely, relevant topics covered by many of the most talented professionals in the industry.”

University of the Aftermarket “On-Demand” programming is offered in a variety of educational tracks, including Financial Management, Distribution Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing & Brand Management, and Organizational Leadership.
