Doug Yates Caps Season with Two MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder of the Year Awards

Earnhardt Childress Racing Engines takes the prize in the Camping World Truck Series.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – MAHLE Clevite Inc. recently announced the 2011 MAHLE Engine Builders of the Year for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series. Doug Yates of Roush Yates Engines was awarded the 2011 MAHLE Engine Builder of the Year title for both the Sprint Cup Series and the Nationwide Series. The award for the Sprint Cup Series was based on the outstanding performance of the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion, driven by Carl Edwards who completed the 2011 season without a single DNF and won three poles. The award for the Nationwide Series stemmed from his work on the No. 60 Ford Fusion, also driven by Carl Edwards.
 
“It is a great honor to receive the MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder of the Year award, and to receive recognition for our work in both the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series makes me especially proud of what we’ve accomplished this year,” said Yates. “Many thanks to MAHLE Clevite for consistently providing unprecedented technical support and quality products that continue to out-perform year-in and year-out.”
 
Jack Roush, Roush Yates Engines, Ted Hughes, MAHLE Clevite and Kevin Harvick for Earnhardt Childress Racing Engines Earnhardt Childress Racing Engines (ECR) was awarded the MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder of the Year for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series based on the performance of the No. 2 Bad Boy Buggies Chevrolet driven by Clint Bowyer. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet accepted the award on behalf of Earnhardt Childress Racing.
