Aaaaand they’re off in The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Summer Shareholder Meeting!

The Alliance kicked off its annual summer meeting on June 5 with derby flair by welcoming more than 450 people to Louisville, Kentucky. Yesterday’s general session began with a “Call to the Post” by the official bugler of Churchill Downs: Steve Buttleman.

The general session consisted of Alliance headquarter presentations ranging from product analysis and reviews, information technologies, sales and marketing initiatives to general group matters. Monday’s agenda concluded with a bluegrass reception featuring Kentucky fare.

“Just like our shareholders, I look forward to our summer meeting every year but this year is extra special for me,” said John R. Washbish, president and CEO of the Alliance as well as a Louisville native. “It is great to welcome everyone to my hometown and work together to reinforce our position as the world’s leading aftermarket group.”

Continuing until June 7, members representing the Alliance’s 50 shareholders from the United States, Mexico, Latin America and Canada join 100 manufacturers to further develop their membership programs, and discuss industry and business trends, product reviews, new IT advancements and upcoming marketing promotions, as well as national accounts and certified service program efforts.

The meeting continues today with a channel partner session and a “Spirit of Kentucky” Reception. The meeting wraps up on Wednesday.
