5 Students Receive Scholarship Awards Honoring The Late Barry Breslow

The $2,000 scholarships are awarded to students in the automotive aftermarket and performance markets.

Five students planning careers in the automotive aftermarket have received scholarships to further their education through the Breslow Foundation scholarships. The $2,000 scholarships are awarded to students in the automotive aftermarket and performance markets.

  • Arianna Argersinger of Mason, Michigan, studying automotive management and engineering at Ferris State University
  • Salvatore Campbell of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, studying mechanical engineering at Drexel University
  • Leah Carron of Detroit, Maine, studying computer engineering at the University of Maine
  • Wyatt Jones of Clovis, California, studying mechanical engineering at San Diego State University
  • Logan Lawson of Hutchinson, Kansas, studying software engineering at California Polytechnic State University

The scholarships honor the late Barry Breslow, an active participant in the automotive aftermarket for many years. Breslow, who passed away in December 2005, was one of the original owners of Autospecialty Inc. and a former chairman of the Auto International Association (AIA), now a segment within the Auto Care Association. He also was a member of the AIA Hall of Fame and a past recipient of the AIA Person of the Year.

“Our family is pleased to honor Barry’s memory by supporting the educational goals of future aftermarket leaders,” said Wendy Breslow, widow of Barry Breslow. “By aiding these students, we are ensuring that Barry’s legacy will live on.”

“We started the Breslow scholarships to encourage intelligent, deserving young people to choose careers in the automotive aftermarket,” said Eric Breslow, Breslow’s son. “We feel that this year’s recipients will make a positive impact on our industry with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.”

Following in his father’s footsteps, Eric Breslow founded Power Performance Group Inc. in 1997. Located in Chatsworth, California, the company supplies both the traditional parts aftermarket and performance market with its POWERSLOT premium and performance brake rotors.

The Breslow scholarships are available to applicants attending four-year colleges or universities and majoring in engineering or business. The funds will be awarded to students with demonstrated financial need who are planning to pursue careers in either the traditional automotive aftermarket or the automotive performance market. All applicants at the Automotive Scholarship Central website who meet these preferred criteria are automatically eligible to be considered for these scholarships.
