FULLERTON, CA — Helping to spread holiday cheer, Yokohama Tire Corp. has joined with other automotive aftermarket companies to support Pro-Fit Linear Fuel Doors’ toy drive for Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA.
Spearheaded by Pro-Fit owner Randy Mukai, toys will be dispersed to children at the hospital on Tues., Dec. 20. According to Mukai, Yokohama, along with Borla Performance, CEC, Sprewell Racing, Maisto International, WTW Corp., Primedia, MRR Wheels and others are contributing toys and money for the holiday charity event.
“Yokohama Tire Corporation has really stepped-up in a big way to help us gather toys for the event,” said Mukai. “They will make the kids at the hospital smile, and that’s what the holidays are about.”
Mark Chung, director of strategic marketing at Yokohama, added, “when Randy called and told us what he was organizing for the children, we definitely told him we’d help. He’s got a lot of support from companies in the industry, and that means more gifts for the kids.”
Mukai, whose company is based in Rosemead, CA, has orchestrated charity events for the hospital for two years. Last summer he put on a car show which attracted 6,000 people.
“I just want the kids to get presents,” he said. “I have a son and I’m blessed that he’s healthy. I want the kids and their parents at Miller Hospital to forget their pain and treatments for one day and smile.”
Mukai said contributions are still being accepted. For details, call 626-280-0324, e-mail [email protected] or visit fueldoors.com. Toys and donations can also be dropped off at the hospital itself.
