Yokohama Rubber Co. said its overall net sales increased 10.2 percent through the first nine months of its 2006 fiscal year versus the year prior, and its worldwide tire group sales were up 11.2 percent.
At the same time, raw material costs and other financial factors pushed operating income down 18.3 percent and net income down by 29.8 percent.
Yokohama management projects that full-year net sales will rise 9.5 percent, but overall operating income will decline 2 percent.
