GASTONIA, N.C. - WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia
Group family of brands, has unveiled a new paint scheme for the WIX Hummer H2
mobile marketing unit, which is set to eclipse a half-million miles driven
since its inception in 2004.
The new
scheme reflects Ryan Newman’s move to Richard Childress Racing and the
black-and-yellow No. 31 Chevrolet. WIX will serve as the primary sponsor of
Newman for three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races during 2014 Pocono Raceway in
June, Daytona International Speedway in July and Michigan International
Speedway in August.
“The WIX
Hummer will be a tremendous advocate for the WIX brand during our 75th
anniversary in 2014,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager for WIX Filters. “The H2
provides our customers with an interactive learning experience on four wheels,
featuring new black-and-yellow graphics, a fold-down filter display and audio
and visual elements.”
So far, the
WIX H2 is scheduled to appear at 225 events in more than a dozen states,
including at customer events in Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan and New
Jersey through February.
Bob Kreps,
who is beginning his 10th year as the driver of the H2 and is known as “Hummer
Bob,” said the H2 has steadily built a loyal following through in-market events
and social media channels.
“There is
perhaps no better visual for the WIX brand than the WIX Hummer H2,” Kreps said.
“We have a full schedule of local and regional customer events and trade shows
across the country in 2014, all with the goal of deepening WIX’s relationship
with its customers.”
The
adventures of the H2 and Hummer Bob are chronicled with photos and videos on
Facebook at www.facebook.com/wixfilters, Twitter @wixfilters and on YouTube at
www.youtube.com/thewixfilters.
Open dates
are extremely limited for the Hummer, which is fully equipped with interactive
displays of WIX oil, air, fuel and cabin air filters where customers can see
and feel the quality difference in a WIX filter. To schedule an event,
interested customers can contact their local WIX distributors.
