WIX brand filters has named the winners of its first-ever WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest. The WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest enables fans to be a part of the action. The WIX Filters Lap Leader Award is presented to the driver who leads the most laps during each race in NASCAR’s NEXTEL Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck racing series. The online contest encourages fans to use their NASCAR knowledge in a weekly competition to predict which drivers will win the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award in each race. Fans who participate in the online contest compete for prizes including an all-expense-paid trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event.

GASTONIA, NC– WIX brand filters has named the winners of its first-ever WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest.

The WIX Filters Lap Leader Award is presented to the driver who leads the most laps during each race in NASCAR’s NEXTEL Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck racing series. The award includes a cash prize presented to the winning driver during a ceremony before the next race and a year-end payout and trophy for the driver who earns the most WIX Filters Lap Leader Awards over the course of the entire season. Cash awards for the year-end honor are: $75,000 for the NEXTEL Cup Series; $20,000 for the Busch Series; and, $10,000 for the Craftsman Truck Series.

The WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest enables fans to be a part of the action. Race fans John Darrow, Mike Bullis and Ken Breese took home top honors in the inaugural WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest, each earning a grand prize, all-expense-paid trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event.

Darrow, of Fleet Products in Plant City, FL, won the 2005 WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series as a result of his success in predicting the weekly WIX Filters Lap Leader Award winner throughout the racing season. Bullis, from Honeoye Auto Parts in Honeoye, NY, earned the 2005 WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest for the Busch Series for consistently selecting the series’ weekly WIX Filters Lap Leader Award winner. Breese, of George’s Garage & Towing in Monroe Township, NJ, won the 2005 WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contest for the Craftsman Truck Series.

Each winner will receive a WIX Filters prize package consisting of airfare for two to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations and a rental vehicle for three days, spending money, pit passes and two suite tickets to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
