Winners of ‘Reward Fit for a King’ Promo Get the Royal Treatment

Prize winners enjoy private racing lessons from Richard Petty and Marcos Ambrose.

McHENRY, Ill. – On Feb. 17, 25 lucky prize winners and guests attended the Disney World Speedway in Orlando with representatives from Raybestos brake and chassis – a member of the Affinia family of brands – for a "once in a lifetime" track day experience, with help from NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty and NASCAR driver Marcos Ambrose.

“When it comes to our racing deal, we’ve got to stay right dead-on with new technology because the guy next door can get ahead, so that’s why it’s nice to work with people like (the company behind) Raybestos,” said Petty.

Each grand prize winner of the 2011 “Reward Fit for a King” Promotion received an "unforgettable" Richard Petty Driving Experience. Each winner drove one of the new exotic RPDE cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Audi R8) for eight laps on the Disney World Speedway “roval.” The Raybestos guests also received private racing instruction from Petty and Ambrose, and finished the experience with a ride-along in authentic NASCAR Sprint Cup cars, experiencing speeds up to 165 mph on the 1-mile tri-oval.

“It was the chance of lifetime – priceless… a real adrenaline-raising experience,”  said guest Phil Offerle, of Gateway Tire in Lakeland, Tenn. “And it was completely awesome to speak with Richard Petty and Marcos Ambrose – they were so down to earth… real gentlemen.”

“Most people don’t realize – you don’t win races by going fast, you win races by actually slowing down … especially when going road racing,” commented Ambrose.  “I’m pleased to play my part in helping develop the Raybestos brake package.”

Raybestos brakes have a celebrated heritage in motorsports, according to Affinia, including NASCAR, IndyCar Series and grassroots racing competition. Raybestos branded promotions help shop owners increase sales by combining influential branding with attractive rebates and sweepstakes for their customers. This spring, shop owners will be able to offer their customers up to $80 in consumer rebates on Raybestos brake and chassis products. Following that, installers, counterpeople and consumers can participate in this summer’s Raybestos “ROUSH Mustang Giveaway.” The winner receives a signature-edition 2013 Raybestos ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, which will be equipped with the very same Raybestos NASCAR brake package run on the Roush Fenway Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports Fords in Sprint Cup competition.
