With an aftermarket career that spans an impressive 40 years, Wanda Shorter counts working with many of the brightest and most successful people in the business – many of them for over 20 or 30 years – among her greatest blessings. “Our industry has one thing in common,” she says. “We all have the same end goal – to give our customers the best quality of service and best products.”
Shorter started her aftermarket journey in data processing for a family-owned auto parts chain, that was later acquired by Fisher Auto Parts. There, she was given the opportunity to work in the field to learn the operations side of the business, which led to her role as regional manager for the eastern shore of Delaware and Maryland.
An industry veteran for four decades, Shorter offers this advice to other women: “Have confidence in yourself. Share your ideas without being afraid of what others might think.”
