In 1990, Donna Hull got her start in the automotive aftermarket as a temp in the accounting department of a privately owned wholesale distributor. As soon as her contract ended, the company hired her. Hull has been in the industry ever since, joining Federated Auto Parts in 2014. Over the years, Hull has learned industry functions ranging from store operations and warehouse controls to financial analysis and vendor programs.
“One of my proudest accomplishments is the creation of an internal database that houses several years’ worth of financial information that can be provided quickly to both management and our members,” Hull says.
She sees the aftermarket as a great place “for women who are interested in a challenging job with multiple opportunities.” Women who already are excelling in the aftermarket can make an impact by mentoring and promoting female employees, she says. “Women in the workforce need stable jobs to support their families. The automotive aftermarket industry is great place to make that happen.”
