The public policy show on the auto show circuit returns to Washington in January with the theme: “The Power of Mobility.” The 2016 Washington Auto Show opens Jan. 20 with the first of two public policy preview days advancing its 10-day general show, the largest public show in Washington, D.C.
The Washington Auto Show routinely draws national leaders to its public policy preview events, with keynotes by CEOs of automakers and U.S. cabinet officials to address the innovations and challenges ahead for the country’s critical automotive sector.
The event is catered to professionals specializing in the automotive industry, clean air technologies, consumer-safety innovations and transportation policy. The Washington Auto Show opens with a forum on Capitol Hill before moving to the show site, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. These public policy preview events feature keynote speeches, regional reveals, a sneak preview reception and landmark panel discussions, including those held in partnership with Society of Automotive Engineer’s Government/Industry Meeting, which is co-located with the show. Taken together, the occasion provides media unmatched access to industry executives, legislators and U.S. Administration officials along with a close look at the vast range of new makes, models and advanced technologies displayed throughout two floors and 750,000 square feet of exhibit space at the convention center.
“We offer media professionals a hands-on look at the driving technologies that will change our industry in the coming years along with an in-depth understanding of the policy initiatives at the forefront of our industry,” said Geoff Pohanka, principal of Pohanka Automotive and chairman of the 2016 Washington Auto Show.
Produced by the Washington Area New Automobile Dealers Association, The Washington Auto Show provides an opportunity to explore the latest cars, technologies and innovations in safety and sustainability, from clean diesel to biofuels and electric vehicles.
