ALLENTOWN, Pa. Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, manufacturer and supplier of VDO OE-engineered TPMS replacement parts, was recognized for "Best New Product for Import Cars or Trucks" in the 2011 Automotive International Industry (AIA) Awards competition, held during the 2011 AAPEX Show in Las Vegas. The award was received for the company’s new VDO REDI-Sensor Multi-Application TPMS Sensor. The AIA Awards Program is held annually to recognize manufacturers and marketers that produce the most innovative products and effective marketing programs designed to serve the import aftermarket.
According to Steve Landis, VDO TPMS product manager, "We are constantly adding new vehicle validations to the VDO REDI-Sensor multi-application TPMS sensor program, especially on the import side. Our recent validations for REDI-Sensor No. SE10001 have dramatically expanded our coverage for Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Nissan, among others. Furthermore, our new VDO REDI-Sensor No. SE10002, which we plan to launch in first quarter 2012, will cover Honda, Lexus, Scion and Toyota, as well as additional Hyundai and Kia vehicles."
VDO says its new REDI-Sensor Multi-Application TPMS Sensors deliver a "game-changing advancement in TPMS service." They are compatible with all major TPMS scan tools and are pre-programmed, so there is no need for new training or specialized programming tool investments. If a shop has the tools and knowledge to work with the OE sensors, it’s ready for REDI-Sensor, the company says.
VDO REDI-Sensor sensors come ready to use right out of the box and are designed to relearn to the vehicle in the exact same way as the OE sensors, according to VDO. The sensors are OE-validated for fit, function and reliability and can be used by themselves or in combination with OE sensors on a vehicle.
