US Motor Works To Acquire The Assets Of Derale Performance And Pacer Performance

CP Auto, the parent company of Derale Performance and Pacer Performance, has had a strong position in the performance market for more than 60 years.

US Motor Works - LogoUS Motor Works LLC (USMW), a manufacturer of components for cooling systems and fuel systems based in Santa Fe Springs, California, has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Derale Performance and Pacer Performance from CP Auto Products Inc.

Tom Longo, president of CP Auto Products Inc., and Gil Benjamin, president and CEO of US Motor Works, have had a strong commercial relationship since US Motor Works acquired the fan clutch manufacturing plant from Derale Performance in 1999. Longo and Benjamin say they have been discussing how to grow each company and secure a significant position in the marketplace, and have agreed that the union of these three companies is much better and stronger than each one on its own.

CP Auto, the parent company of Derale Performance and Pacer Performance, has had a strong position in the performance market for more than 60 years. US Motor Works, in business for more than 21 years, has successfully penetrated the international, traditional and retail marketplace with quality cooling and fuel systems products. In today’s continually changing market landscape, a combined effort of the three companies – US Motor Works, Derale Performance and Pacer Performance – will allow the new organization to emerge leaner, stronger and better-suited to grow and move ahead in the future, according to Longo and Benjamin.

In a joint letter to the employees of the combined companies, Longo and Benjamin wrote, “We are thrilled to be the first to share the news of what’s to come, and we will be sure to keep everyone updated on any further developments as they become realities. Tom will continue to run the performance lines of US Motor Works (Derale Performance & Pacer Performance) and will continue to operate from its current facilities, while US Motor Works will continue to operate out of their current locations.”

In the coming months US Motor Works, Derale, and Pacer will be reaching out to their customers, suppliers and channel partners to share all the new and exciting opportunities this merger will create.

The combination of the three companies currently supplies the OEM, OES and aftermarket segments with high-quality stock and performance products.
