This week at AAPEX, 24 students from the William
F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
(UNLV), are serving as interpreters for international attendees and exhibitors.
The students have been on-hand all week to assist attendees and exhibitors with
Cantonese, Mandarin, Teochew, Korean, Taiwanese, Japanese, French, Spanish and
Portuguese.
AAPEX draws attendees and exhibitors from around
the world. In 2012, more than 130 countries were represented at the event. In
addition to the UNLV student interpreters, AAPEX provides an International
Buyer Center for visitors and official buying delegations, complete with
translators, staff to answer questions and private meeting rooms.
The sold-out 2013 AAPEX has featured nearly 2,400
exhibitors, 5,000 booths. The event also has included more than 40 free
education sessions as part of the AAPEX Learning Forum, covering the latest
industry trends and technologies. In addition, the 2013 AAPEX show also includes
a designated Remanufacturing Section, a Tool and Equipment Section and the
International Heat Transfer Association (NARSA) Heat Transfer and Mobile AC
Pavilion.
