FORT WORTH, TX — Intermet Corp., a manufacturer of cast-metal automotive components, announced that its Magnesium Plant in Palmyra , MO , has been granted the ISO 9001:2000 Certification from the International Organization of Standardization (ISO). In addition, Intermet’s Monroe City , MO , plants recently completed and passed their surveillance audits and retain their TS16949 certification. All of the Missouri plants are also ISO14001 certified.
ISO is an international body that sets technical standards for various industries. In manufacturing, ISO 9000 quality standards are universally accepted and highly regarded. ISO 9000 is a standards family comprised of a dozen standards focused on the development and implementation of a quality management system (QMS) for businesses. Of these, the ISO 9001 standard is the most well known and most widely adopted standard.
