Two Companies Donate More than $13,000 to Katrina Relief Effort

Representatives of two aftermarket companies, IMC and ZF Trading, have presented a donation of more than $13,000 to Katrina relief efforts, in the name of the Aftermarket Foundation. The Aftermarket Foundation uses funds like these to help industry members affected by natural disasters.

BETHESDA, MD– Representatives of two aftermarket companies, IMC and ZF Trading, have presented a donation of more than $13,000 to Katrina relief efforts, in the name of the Aftermarket Foundation. The Aftermarket Foundation uses funds like these to help industry members affected by natural disasters.

IMC’s Thomas Beer and Matt Jonsson and ZF Trading’s Oliver presented the check for $13,661.64 to Mike Brown, president, AIA and Martin Gold, former AIA president, during the association’s recent conference in Las Vegas. AIA, the Auto International Association, is a market segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.

Maryland Teamsters Call for Passage of HB 1447

Members of Teamsters Locals 570, 639, and 922 testified before the Maryland House of Delegates to call for the passage of House Bill 1447 (HB 1447), legislation that would require a human operator in large commercial vehicles. Similar legislation has been introduced in California, Iowa, Indiana, and New York this year.

Beyond the safety aspect, the legislation would protect middle-class jobs, according to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
