Turbo One Celebrates Global Cummins Award

Turbo One received the award in recognition of its outstanding performance through 2008 in their region, tackling the threat of counterfeiting and its commitment to Cummins' corporate values. An authorized distributor since 2000, this is the second year that Turbo One has received this award, which includes a grant toward its marketing efforts.

HUDDERSFIELD, U.K. — Singapore-based Turbo One triumphed over 320 other distributors to receive the accolade of Worldwide Distributor of the Year from Cummins Turbo Technologies. Managing Director Albert Toh and colleagues traveled to Cummins Turbo Technologies’ headquarters in Huddersfield, U.K., last week to receive their award from Neil Nath, general manager – Worldwide Aftermarket.

Turbo One received the award in recognition of its outstanding performance through 2008 in their region, tackling the threat of counterfeiting and its commitment to Cummins’ corporate values. An authorized distributor since 2000, this is the second year that Turbo One has received this award, which includes a grant toward its marketing efforts.

Turbo One’s newly opened facility encompasses a $300,000 Turbo Gallery featuring Holset products. Turbo One also participated in a Six Sigma improvement project led by Cummins’ Parag Khare, account manager sales and marketing – Asia Pacific, to increase sales in Indonesia. The appearance of counterfeit turbochargers received a prompt and effective response from the Turbo One team with an education program for customers offered in conjunction with Cummins. Toh also has developed customer-focused services to reduce customer risk including guaranteed genuine product, guaranteed exchange of obsolete stock, competitive pricing and the availability of consignment stock.

“Receiving this prestigious award signifies that Turbo One has consistently demonstrated the right actions going into their marketplace, managing the Holset product brand and presence in their region,” said Nath. “The Distributor of the Year Award aims to identify what is the benchmark for authorized distributors; Turbo One has achieved this and gone above and beyond meeting sales targets to demonstrate Cummins’ values in the community.”

Toh commented, “Our achievement is not possible without good people; Turbo One is blessed with wonderful people. We have also benchmarked many ideas from Cummins and benefited from outstanding customer service, off-road support and responsive aftermarket support. I would like to thank everyone at Cummins Turbo Technologies for their continued confidence and support of Turbo One.”

Regional winners include family-owned Turbo Diesel and Electric Systems in North America and Ganganagar Automobiles in India.
