RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. Erik Hurst, professor of economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, will present a unique perspective on the global and U.S. economies at the 2012 Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) VisCon, set for Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Rosemont, Ill.

Erik Hurst is the V. Duane Rath Professor of Economics and Neubauer Family Faculty Fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He studies macroeconomic policy, consumption, time use, entrepreneurship, housing markets and household financial behavior. Hurst’s works on leisure trends have been featured in The New York Times, the Washington Post and The Economist.
Hurst earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Clarkson University in 1993. He received a master’s degree in economics in 1995 and a PhD in economics in 1999 from the University of Michigan. He joined the Chicago Booth faculty in 1999.
AASA VisCon 2012, exclusive to AASA member companies, will kick off with a welcome reception on the evening of Wednesday, March 28, following meetings of the AASA Board of Governors and AASA councils.
The program will begin on Thursday morning with a networking breakfast, followed by keynote addresses, customer presentations and discussions of trends and challenges affecting automotive aftermarket suppliers.
