The Work Truck Show 2010 Overflows with Opportunities for Truck Equipment Distributors and Upfitters

Registration now open for North America's largest work truck event.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Registration is now open for North America’s largest work truck event, The Work Truck Show 2010. Register online at www.ntea.com to explore 500,000 square feet of cutting-edge truck components and equipment, meet face-to-face with current and potential suppliers, and choose from more than 40 training sessions to help improve your business, including two Special Sessions designed specifically for distributors and truck equipment upfitters.

The Work Truck Show 2010 is held in conjunction with the 46th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention, March 10-12, 2010, at America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo. The Convention, educational sessions and Green Truck Summit open March 9.

“The Work Truck Show is your best opportunity to see the industry’s latest product and technology developments, meet with leading manufacturers and obtain training designed specifically for truck equipment distributors and upfitters,” said Allen Birmingham, NTEA Convention chairman and national sales manager of Tommy Gate Co. (Phoenix, Ariz.). “This is the one show of the year that you really can’t afford to miss!”

NTEA members can network and learn from one another in a variety of venues at The Work Truck Show 2010, including social settings, such as the Opening Reception held at America’s Center on Tuesday, March 9, and in educational sessions like the Special Session: Performance Improvement Benchmarks for Distributors and Equipment Upfitters. At this session, attendees will learn some of the traits that make high-performing truck equipment distributors and upfitters successful. The course draws from an ongoing work truck industry study being conducted by the NTEA and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center. The study identifies key performance measurements and benchmarks of successful members that other members can then implement to improve their own profitability and performance. The session runs from 9 a.m. –12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9.

At the same time on Tuesday, the Special Session: Determining What You Make vs. What You Buy will provide distributors and manufacturers with tools and methods for evaluating which components to make and which to buy.

Learn what’s new and what’s coming from 10 of the world’s leading chassis manufacturers during “Chassis Update” sessions. These sessions cover chassis specifications, design, body installation and equipment mounting options. For example, representatives of Hino will discuss the company’s chassis cab model line-up changes for 2011, 2012 and 2013, as well as new options for the service/utility market. General Motors Fleet and Commercial Operations will focus on significant improvements planned for the Silverado and HD chassis to better serve the commercial truck market. International Truck plans to talk about its Advanced EGR and hybrid technology. The sessions are scheduled as part of the educational conference March 9-11.

Some of the other educational sessions designed for distributors, manufacturers and upfitters include:
• Demystifying Weight Distribution Calculations for Work Trucks
• Getting Back to the Good Old Days: Avoiding Mistakes of the Past
• What Does the Future Hold? Industry Overview and Outlook
