Tim Trudnowski, president of Federated member Automotive Jobber Supply in Spokane, Washington, presided as the Federated 400 grand marshal and started the race with the traditional “start your engines” instructions during Federated Auto Parts 400 race weekend.

Members of the Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) recently teamed up to support the Michigan Automotive Parts Association (MAPA) and its 65th annual Industry Day held in Flint, Michigan. James O’Dell (right), marketing manager of Federated member Motown Automotive Distributing Co. in Farmington Hills, Michigan and Alena Van Cleave (left), manager of Pronto member A & Jay Automotive Warehouse based in Redford, Michigan, made a presentation entitled “Attract and Retain the Next Generation” to the Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) members in attendance.

A group of Federated members, customers and vendor partners participated in a charity golf outing the day before the Federated 400 last month in Richmond. The winning foursome featured a group from Fisher Auto Parts: Gary Shifflett, Geoffrey Shifflett, Kendrick Kier and Rick Peters, with Kenny Schrader far right. The proceeds from the outing, over $13,000, were donated to Toys for Tots.

Riki Nakazawa, vice president strategy & partnerships, Atheer, was a speaker at AASA’s recent Technology Conference. She spoke on Augmented Reality for the Shop.

Federated member Berrodin Parts Warehouse hosted customers at a Get Dirty with Kenny dirt track driving experience last month at the Bridgeport Speedway in Swedesboro, New Jersey. The Berrodin guests were able to learn the ropes of dirt track driving from Kenny Schrader before driving one of the Federated dirt track cars themselves and then taking a spin with Schrader around the track.

Advance Auto Parts in Houston held a watch party for the Mexican National Team in September. 240 people attended the watch party at the Advance Auto Parts Distribution Center – the guests were all Pro customers; 54 shops were represented (50 of which were Latino owned).
