Tenneco Adding Nearly 400 New Parts to Walker Exhaust Line

Company continues aggressive investment in new coverage, expands reach of global Starla brand for foreign nameplate vehicles.

LAS VEGAS – Tenneco announced this week at AAPEX that it will introduce nearly 400 new parts to its Walker line of replacement exhaust products in 2011 and also will dramatically expand foreign nameplate application coverage available through its global Starla exhaust offering.

Tenneco said these new parts continue the company’s aggressive investment in coverage of popular late-model applications manufactured in North America and around the world.

Tenneco plans to add 38 new Quiet-Flow SS stainless steel replacement mufflers, around 80 Walker Ultra and CalCat catalytic converters, 37 performance mufflers and pipes and more than 230 other components through its 2011 continuous quarterly product launch program. Also included among the new parts are OE-style replacement Diesel Particulate Filters and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst units for late-model diesel-powered light trucks.

“The Walker and Starla brands are a single-source solution, available through any Walker distributor or jobber, for virtually any vehicle registered on the road today,” said Daneen Wygast, product manager, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco. “We’re now fully leveraging our global OE emissions control portfolio to introduce high-quality, exact-fit components for a full range of foreign nameplate vehicles so our customers can capture more sales and service opportunities each day.”

Tenneco’s expanded line of Walker Ultra catalytic converters now features a variety of OE-focused designs that address MIL-related issues on many vehicle models. According to the company, these Walker Ultra converters include two times the precious metal loading of typical aftermarket converters.

“Walker Ultra converters are hands-down the best-engineered aftermarket converters for OBDII (1996 and newer) vehicles,” Wygast said.
