TAITRA, the foreign trade promotion council in Taiwan, recently held the “Taiwan Excellence Auto Safety and Lighting Online Product Launch” as a live-stream event on YouTube.
On Oct. 21, five Taiwanese auto manufacturers including Lucidity Enterprise, C.H.O., Zealio Electronics, IEI and WiseChip Semiconductor gave presentations focusing on how to improve vehicle safety, and introduced new products ranging fromautomotive hard parts to vehicle electrical systems to LED lights. The presentations were part of an effort to connect Taiwanese automotive manufacturers with new business opportunities within theU.S.and E.U.automotive supply chains.

The presenters from the “Taiwan Excellence Auto Safety and Lighting Online Product Launch”include current winners of the Taiwan Excellence Awards. The Taiwan Excellence Awards were established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1993. Every year, eligible candidates must meet rigorous criteria in four major areas: R&D, Design, Quality and Marketing, to identify outstanding products that offer “Innovative Value” while satisfying the key criterion of being “Made in Taiwan.”
During the event, IEI proposed a solution to detect driving fatigue; Taiwan’s largest manufacturer of trailer lights, Lucidity, introduced innovative products that greatly reduce the damage of lights with rubber materials; WiseChip discussedinnovative applications of automotive panels aiming at business opportunities in smart transportation; Zealio Electronics demonstrated the combination of wireless pedals and door warning systems; and the C.H.O. announced transmission parts that use a labyrinth design to block sand and gravel from entering the cavity and reduce oil leakage accidents in the transmission system. Attendees watching the live-stream were able to post questions in the chat function, to be answered by experts following the event.
The event attracted about 78 international buyers and industrymedia from Europe and the United States. According to TAITRA, after the broadcast, buyers reported success in establishing newbusiness opportunities and follow-up negotiations.
