MEMA Seeks Meeting With Top Trump Administration Officials
On behalf of its members, MEMA has offered to work closely with the Trump administration to grow U.S manufacturing jobs and participate in discussions that directly impact the supplier industry, including trade, tax reform and regulatory reform.
MEMA Takes Position On Tax Reform
The association, on behalf of its 1,000 motor vehicle component manufacturer members, issued a statement supporting tax reform initiatives that it says will increase American manufacturing employment without putting an integrated supply chain at risk. MEMA also has engaged a leading research firm to investigate potential effects of the proposed Border Adjustment Tax, and to identify specific initiatives that will lead to a more competitive manufacturing environment and continued job growth in the U.S.
MEMA President And CEO To Release New US Jobs Numbers At DC Auto Show
MEMA President and CEO Steve Handschuh will outline MEMA’s landmark “2017 Economic Impact Study” examining the number of U.S. jobs created by motor vehicle parts manufacturers and the industry’s overall impact on the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) at the 2017 Washington Auto Show. Handschuh’s presentation is slated for Thursday, Jan. 26 at the auto show’s media event.
