Spirit of NAPA Award Goes to NAPA Filters

NAPA Filters was presented the 2004 Spirit of NAPA Award, according to Terry McCormack, president and CEO of Affinia Group Inc. The Spirit of NAPA is presented to the manufacturer supplier who has provided the most outstanding service to the NAPA organization during the year.

ANN ARBOR, MI — NAPA Filters was presented the 2004 Spirit of NAPA Award, according to Terry McCormack, president and CEO of Affinia Group Inc.

The Spirit of NAPA is presented to the manufacturer supplier who has provided the most outstanding service to the NAPA organization during the year.

NAPA President Bob Susor presented the award at the Genuine Parts Company annual managers meeting on February 11, calling it the most prestigious honor that NAPA confers upon a supplier.

“Not distracted by the fact their parent company was going through a change of ownership, they introduced a major new product line, developed and introduced new packaging for the existing line, and launched new retail plan-o-grams,” said Susor. “Additionally, 13 NAPA Filter Reps were named 2004 Factory Representative of the year by their respective NAPA Distribution Centers.”

“When the announcement was made in December 2003 that Dana was going to sell its automotive aftermarket group, we made a commitment to keep our customers at the very top of our priorities,” said McCormack. “In spite of all the distractions and uncertainty of the situation, our people remained focused on that commitment. Earning the Spirit of NAPA Award is a by-product of the way all of our people have united behind the single purpose of serving our customers. Recognition like this for any one of us is recognition for all of us.”

John Washbish, president of Customer Relationship Management for Affinia, accepted the award. In his remarks, Washbish said, “With great pride I accept this award not only on behalf of our 3,500 people who directly support NAPA Filtration, but all 13,000 Affinia people worldwide. It’s also important that we thank everyone at NAPA Headquarters, the group offices, distribution centers and stores for their confidence, and their support of our products. And, I’d like to offer special thanks to the NAPA product team in Atlanta for the working relationship and ‘get it done’ attitude they fostered throughout 2004.”

Washbish credited Affinia’s Customer Relationship Management structure for sustaining the company’s extreme dedication to its customers.
